Terra Nova and its subsidiaries (collectively “we”, “us” or “our”) are committed to protecting your privacy and support a general policy of openness about how we collect, use and disclose your Personal Information in accordance with relevant data protection laws.
The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you about our practices relating to the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information that may be provided through access to or use of our websites, services or products or that may otherwise be collected by us. By using any of our websites, mobile applications or other digital platforms that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively “Websites”), you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Where no express provision is made in this Privacy Notice the terms set out in the current Law, the Regulations and the Guidelines will apply.

What user data we collect

• Contact information for the employees of corporate accounts and vendors and other individuals with whom we do business (e.g., travel agents or meeting and event planners).

Safeguarding and Securing the Data
We are committed to securing your data and keeping it confidential. We will use our best efforts to prevent data theft, unauthorised access, and disclosure by implementing the latest technologies and software, which help to secure and safeguard all the information we collect onsite and online.
This protection applies in relation to information stored in both electronic and hard copy form. Access to your Personal Information is restricted to selected employees or representatives on a “need to know” basis and we employ generally accepted information security techniques, such as firewalls, access control procedures and cryptography, to protect personal information against loss and unauthorized access.

• Internal policies and technical measures to limit access to your personal information within our organization to employees who need access to that information to perform their job functions. For example, depending on the nature and context of our interaction with you, certain types of information may be accessed by our customer support team to respond to complaints and inquiries.
• A dedicated Privacy Officer responsible for monitoring our compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations and responding to privacy inquiries and complaints.
Children
Guest reservations does not seek to collect personal information about children 7 years and under and you must be 18 or older to use this site.
If the Personal Data refers to minors, persons declared incompetent or incapacitated under applicable law, the processing of their data will require consent from their parents or guardians. Any exercising of the rights of the data subject must take place through the person holding parental authority or guardianship or representation of the incapacitated person, as the case may be. Any documentation and information collected by us to that effect will be kept with the security, administrative, technical and physical measures as necessary for protecting your Personal Data.
How Long Will We Store Your Data?
In general, the data obtained on the website and the booking platform will be stored for the duration of your relationship with us and in any event for the periods stipulated in the applicable legal provision and for the time required to deal with possible liability arising from the processing. Your data will be deleted once it is no longer required or relevant for the purposes for which it was collected.
Video Surveillance
For the safety of the Hotel’s users, visitors and employees, security cameras have been placed in the corridors, restaurants, lobby, public common areas of the hotel, so you are hereby informed that once you enter the Hotel’s premises you will be recorded by our security cameras for the above purposes. The images and sound recorded by the CCTV cameras are also considered to be Personal Data, whereby the provisions set out in this Privacy Notice will also be applicable to them.
Cookies
Like any other website, we use ‘cookies’. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimise the users’ experience by customising our web page content based on visitors’ browser type and/or other information.

Third Party Privacy Policies
Our Privacy Policy is not applicable to other websites. Thus, we are advising you to consult the respective Privacy Policies of these third-party websites for more detailed information.
The Personal Data can only be passed on to companies belonging to Terra Nova’s affiliates and subsidiaries, whether in this country or abroad, and to third-party providers of services with whom we have contracts in place for providing services to its guests, in accordance with the purposes and terms set out in this Privacy Notice.
By consenting to the processing and transfer of your Personal Data, you are therefore also authorising the transfer of that information (including the Credit Card information provided) to such third parties, for payment of the services and/or products requested.

a. Advertising:-
If you do not wish to receive advertising information from us, we kindly ask you to notify us in writing, signed, with a copy of your identity document with a photo, and send to the following email address info@terranovajamaica.com or you may utilize the opt-out/unsubscribe feature. If you wish to opt-out or unsubscribe from any third-party websites, you must go to that specific website to do so.
b. Acceptance or Refusal of the Processing and Transfer of Personal Data:-
By accepting your reservation confirmation, whether in writing or personally, through our website or through any electronic medium used by the latter for confirming your reservation, you can give or deny your consent to the processing and transfer of your Personal Data (including the credit card information provided for payment of the services and/or products); this will be subject to the terms set out in
this Privacy Notice and applicable legislation in Jamaica.
Online Chat
While visiting our website, we may offer you assistance by initiating an online chat. The information you provide while using the online chat feature will be stored by us and may be associated to your email address.
Recording Calls
The calls received or made by our agents are recorded for security and quality management purposes. These recordings are deleted after a maximum period of one (1) month, except when they must be stored longer in order to manage any possible incidents or complaints. The recording of the calls is based on our legitimate interest in being able to verify the content of the conversation held between our clients and agents, especially in relation to the contracting of products or services and the management of claims or complaints. It also aids in evaluating and managing the quality of our customer service. If you do not wish for your call to be recorded, please inform the agent who is helping you.
Disclosure of Personal Information
We may disclose personal information in the following ways:-
1. Reservations:-
The personal information that is provided in the course of making a reservation will be disclosed to the corresponding hotel.
2. Third Party Service Providers/Processors:-
We may disclose your personal information to third party processors that we have an agreement with, such as fulfillment houses, email service providers and mail houses that process mail and communications for us. However, these third-party companies are not allowed to use your personal information for any other purpose not specified by us.
3. We will also disclose your personal information when required by law, or whenever we belief, in good faith, that it is necessary in order to investigate or protect against a harmful activity to our customers, employees, our property (including the website) or to others.
Business Transfers
We reserve the right to disclose and/or transfer Personal Information to a third party in the event of a proposed or completed corporate reorganization and to a related party or third party in the event of a proposed or completed purchase, sale (including a liquidation, realization, foreclosure or repossession), lease, license, merger, amalgamation or any other type of acquisition, disposal, transfer, conveyance or financing, the taking of security on, or securitization of all or any portion of us or of any of the business or assets or shares of us or a

While many of our services are publicly accessible, your account information, where applicable, and some of our services are accessible only through the use of an individual user ID and password. We will not be held liable for you not receiving notification of changes to this Privacy Notice if there are any problems with your email account or transmission of information via the internet, or for any reason not attributable to Terra Nova. You are therefore recommended to continuously review our Privacy Notice on our website as the mere fact of publication made on the website will be deemed to be notification of the corresponding modification.
